How it works…
Reference photos for painting —All you need are a few photos of your furry loved one. Best if you use natural light but not bleached out sunlight or flash. No harsh lighting or low resolution. (Please make sure that any pictures or scans you send are at least 300 dpi.) But if you only have limited photos, we can make it work. The better the reference photo(s) the better your painting will be. A good suggestion is to get down to your dog/cat’s level to photograph them.
Deciding on media? — Please note that oils take much longer to produce, as I work in thin layers that must dry in between. The timetable for watercolor paintings is much faster. All depend upon the commissions currently in progress in my studio. See note below.*

Watercolor painting on paper (comes unframed, matted in archival materials and resealable clear protective sleeve)

Full color painting acrylic or oil (comes on cradled panel, ready to hang unframed)

Extra pets in each portrait - add 100 to $400 each depending on size and complexity.
All acrylic and oil paintings are on cradled panel - they come wired and ready to hang without frame.
Framing not included in price. But I can take care of framing for an additional charge.
Watercolors or drawings on paper will come matted and backed in archival materials.
*Paintings take 6-8 weeks typically to complete. (Oils take longer than acrylics to dry.) Depending on schedule of commissions currently in Artist’s studio. If you have a deadline (birthday, anniversary, holiday …) please allow for enough time when ordering (or a certificate may be purchased that can be presented for a future portrait).
